Cascade Mineralogical Society – Kent, Washington


CMS  is a non-profit educational organization. We welcome individuals interested in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, gems and related lapidary arts to join us. The objective of the club is to stimulate interest in the study of the earth sciences, lapidary arts and related subjects. These goals will be accomplished through educational presentations, personal experience and demonstrations at club meetings and other public presentations. The club also provides opportunities for field trips, rock collecting and social gatherings. We are located in Kent, WA.

All are welcome and membership is open to everyone.

  • October’s Note from the Presidents Desk

    Last month Mike and I have worked several days at the Puyallup Fair. It was great to see the happy smiles, big eyes and ooo’s and ah’s of excitement on the kids faces when they got a polished rock. It was so much fun and at the end of each day we went home with such a happy feeling. Hopefully, our Club will get some new members from our efforts at the Fair. Meeting Announcements

  • October 13th, Thurs – General Meeting @ 7pm

    October 13th, Thursday – General Meeting at 7pm October 10th is Washington State’s Indigenous Peoples Day and October 23rd is Federal Native American Day. Meeting Topic: To acknowledge the Native Americans our October program will be on Thunder Eggs. The Native Americans of the west coast have a great story attached to them.  Show ‘n Tell: Bring a type of rock that has an Indian Folklore attached to it. Then tell us the story.
